My Year in Review 2019

I have had one hell of a decade as I moved out of employed and the NHS to running my own businesses.  I have continued to enjoy so many new experiences this year and I am proud of what I have achieved.  Today I have taken some time to recognise and celebrate some of my highlights and reflections….in no particular order!

  • Wrote and published a blog every day throughout the year, including holiday periods.
  • Watched the BDO Darts World Championship in Lakeside for the first time.
  • Founded my second business The Impact Mentor Ltd
  • Finished supporting the WMAHSN Serendip incubator and accelerator in June, after mentoring start-ups since its inception in 2016
  • Read and listened to great books by Preeti Shenoy, Mary Portas, Seth Godin, Penny Power, Matt Haig, Derek Rydall and more
  • Routinely went to bed later than I should
  • Supported family through mental illness.
  • Formally joined the Association of Business Mentors as a full member.
  • Enjoyed the support from great friends, colleagues and a brilliant psychotherapist
  • Didn’t eat any refined sugar for 4 months
  • Launched my new website
  • Went blonde again
  • Enjoying learn more about cognitive bias.
  • Developed new tools to support and provide insight to my clients
  • Loved spending time with our ever funny teen!
  • Had awesome holidays, trips by the sea and city breaks, including Berlin, Criccieth, Zante, Woolacombe and Padstow.
  • Proudly watched Rhianna dance her first solo.
  • Met new friends at workshops, conferences and online
  • Went to the theatre more than previous years
  • Drank many tasty coffees with friends
  • Eat great vegan food
  • Windsurfed
  • Let my facebook lives dwindle
  • Completed the first draft of my book to be launched in 2020.
  • Started mentoring some of the businesses in the Birmingham Enterprise Community
  • Didn’t make bootcamp as often as I would like
  • Successfully launched my monthly Focus 4 Impact workshops and moved them to Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium.
  • Became a Mental Health First Aider
  • Joined the Board of Stourport Forward
  • Gave away 24 gifts through my reverse advent calendar
  • Saw Muse, one of my favourite bands, live for the first time
  • Spent my birthday by the sea
